Reaching a New Level: ASEAN, Australia and New Zealand Sign Updated Free Trade Agreement

Under the upgrade, AANZFTA will include additional commitments on services and investment that will benefit exporters and investors. It will also strengthen supply chain resilience and digital technology adoption. The agreement will also include key commitments on sustainable and inclusive trade, facilitating enhanced cooperation on environmental protection, green economy, labor issues, and women’s economic empowerment. According to ASEAN Secretariat News, economic ministers from the four ASEAN member states, namely Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore, together with their counterparts from Australia and New Zealand, signed the 2nd Protocol, which upgrades the original AANZFTA Agreement which entered into force on January 1, 2010. Hanoi and France Enter Urban Planning Partnership

On August 21, a delegation from Vietnam had a productive working session with the Institute for Urban Planning and Development – Ile de France (IPR). The discussions focused on cooperation in public transport, planning, and expansion. The delegation from Hanoi presented the pedestrian streets around Hoan Kiem Lake and the planning and preservation of Duong Lam ancient village as examples of successful urban planning and development in Vietnam. Chairman of Hanoi People’s Council, Nguyen Ngoc Tuan, expressed his hopes for continued close cooperation from the Ile-de-France region in this field. Korean Sport Events for Vietnamese Students and Workers

The 13th Vietnam Student Sports Festival in the Republic of Korea (RoK) was held in Ansan city on August 19-20, as reported by VNA. In its 66 years of establishment and development, the Vietnam Education Publishing House has compiled and published numerous books to improve knowledge and appreciation for the Vietnamese language, literature, and culture. This includes sets of books designed to teach Vietnamese to overseas Vietnamese as well as the “Chao Tieng Viet” (Hello Vietnamese) series compiled by Nguyen Thuy Anh. Australian Foreign Minister to Speaks with Vietnamese Australians on Promoting New Cooperation
