Vietnam at the Heart of Canada’s Indo-Pacific Strategy

On September 26, the Vietnamese Embassy in Ottawa held a ceremony to celebrate the 78th anniversary of National Day and 50 years of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Canada. This event was attended by more than 250 guests, including Canadian diplomatic officials, diplomats from ASEAN countries, international experts, and scholars interested in Vietnam. In addition, a large number of overseas Vietnamese women, businessmen, and students from major provinces and cities in Canada also attended. During the opening ceremony, the Ambassador-Designate of Vietnam to Canada, Pham Vinh Quang, reviewed the country’s political, diplomatic, and socioeconomic achievements. The Command Board of Station 560 Visits Hero of the People’s Armed Forces Ho Dac Thanh On September 1, the Command Board of Station 560, Regiment 451, led by Major Nguyen Bien, Station Political Commissar, visited Hero of the People’s Armed Forces Ho Dac Thanh at his home in ward 5, Tuy Hoa city, Phu Yen province. Hero of the People’s Armed Forces Ho Dac Thanh, former Captain of “ship without numbers” (alias Ship 41), played a crucial role in transporting weapons to Vung Ro Wharf in late 1964 and early 1965. This enabled the provision of weapons, food, and medicines to supply the southern front, contributing to the victory in liberating the South and reunifying the country in the historic Ho Chi Minh campaign in 1975. Vung Ro Wharf, located in Hoa Xuan Nam Commune, Phu Yen province, is one of the most important wharves of the Ho Chi Minh Trail at Sea. Vietnamese and Japanese Youth Strengthen Friendship

Attendees were also provided with tips on how to make the most of their employment opportunities. The Japan-Vietnam Association is hosting a seminar in Tokyo, Japan, to provide Vietnamese workers with guidance on how to successfully integrate and work in the country. The seminar was attended by former Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Umeda Kunio, as well as representatives from several Japanese companies that recruit Vietnamese workers.
