Young individuals in traditional attire captivate foreigners’ attention in Hanoi

The event, organized by young enthusiasts of Vietnamese traditional costumes, showcased various traditional garments including nhat binh (square-collared garb), ngu than (a five-paneled aristocratic gown from the 19th and early-20th centuries), and ao dai (Vietnam’s traditional long gown), among others, as well as traditional hats. Foreign tourists were impressed by young people dressed in unique and colorful traditional outfits. Many of them used their smartphones or cameras to capture the essence of the event, which was filled with Vietnamese culture. Nguyen Nga, a member of the organizing board, explained that the aim of the event was to promote Vietnamese traditional costumes to the public. Concert promoting peace to debut in Vietnam

According to a VNOB representative, the world has experienced many difficulties and pain due to epidemics and disasters, so “peace” has become even more precious and the theatre wanted to organise the concerts to look forward to a better future. “A mass for peace” is a work by Welsh composer Karl Jenkins. The piece was released in 2000 and has been performed by orchestras and choirs around the world but has never been staged in Vietnam. Khmer boat race excites crowds in southern Vietnam

Khmer people believe that the moon is a god that controls the weather and crops. The  worship is therefore to thank the moon for granting them good weather and bumper harvests, as well as to pray for better crops the following year. Photographed is an art performance put on by Khmer ethnic people at the opening ceremony of the boat race. The opening ceremony sees the presence of local leaders, monks, and Khmer people. Hundreds of racers from Bac Lieu, Ca Mau, Hau Giang, Kien Giang, Tra Vinh, Vinh Long, and the host Soc Trang compete in the tournament.
