French delegation enjoys tour to Trang An beauty spot

French delegates attending the 12th Vietnam-France Decentralized Co-operation Conference on April 16 visited Hoa Lu ancient capital, and Trang An Complex, the northern province of Ninh Binh. Many delegates expressed excitement during the tour. Attendees included Chairwoman of the National Assembly’s Committee of Social Affairs, President of the Vietnam-France Friendship and Co-operation Association Nguyen Thuy Anh; Senator Catherine Deroche, Chairwoman of the France-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians’ Group in the Senate of France; Vice Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen; and Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of External Affairs Tran Nghia Hoa, among others.  The delegation visited Trang An complex, a UNESCO-recognized World Heritage Site. 2023 Ho Chi Minh Tourism Fest features low-cost tours, travel vouchers

The four-day festival features 120 booths with vendors touting promotional tourism programs and products to both domestic and foreign visitors. The aim of the festival is to boost tourism connectivity and contribute to the country’s economic growth, according to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism. Among the promotional packages on sale at the fest are domestic tours offered by local travel firm Saigontourist, which are being offered at discounts of up to 30 percent. Aside from its domestic tours, Saigontourist is also offering international tours at steep discounts. Other promotions at the festival include discounts on one-day city tours, double-decker bus tours, water puppet tour tickets, and trips to popular tourism destinations across the country. Vietravel, another local tour operator, is using the festival to roll out a four-day promotional program featuring discounts of up VND12 million (US$514.1). Couple offer free boarding house for poor students in central Vietnam

The boarding house has become an address of love and nurtures the kindness and dreams of many poor students. Songrit Pongern is a Thai journalist and cultural researcher who has visited Vietnam many times. In his perception, Vietnam has a unique indigenous diversity reflected in the beliefs, lifestyles of the people, methods of production, especially in agriculture. Vietnamese boxer outplays Spanish competitor to advance to world championship semifinals

From the beginning of Wednesday’s match, Tam showed her dominance over Fernandez. Tam did not allow her opponent to approach while launching single and continuous attacks.  With abundant physical strength and good stature, Tam confused the European No. 9 and took the lead in the showdown. In the first two rounds, Tam scored with straight punches and accurate hooks into Fernandez’s face, abdomen, and ribs to claim the absolute victory. In the third round, Fernandez tried to regain the balance but ended up being squeezed out by the Vietnamese boxer.  At one point, Fernandez even failed to keep her composure and had an unsportsmanlike conduct against Tam, for which she was given a warning. US artists to hold painting exhibition in Da Nang

About 40 US artists will participate in the exhibition which has been designed in two spaces. The first space, themed “Finding Parkinsons” will display artworks by painter David Thomas who was born in Portland, Maine, in 1946. He joined the US Army in 1968 and was subsequently sent to Vietnam to serve as a combat engineer/artist for one year from April 11, 1969, to April 10, 1970. After leaving the US Army, Thomas then joined the Vietnam Veterans Against the War to protest US involvement in Vietnam, with many of his artworks focusing on the anti-war movement. In 2000, he was awarded the “Vietnam Art Medal” by the Vietnamese Government in recognition of his contributions to the arts. The second space will bring together artworks of 37 members of the Boston Printmakers.
