2023 Ho Chi Minh Tourism Fest features low-cost tours, travel vouchers

The four-day festival features 120 booths with vendors touting promotional tourism programs and products to both domestic and foreign visitors.

The aim of the festival is to boost tourism connectivity and contribute to the country’s economic growth, according to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism.

Among the promotional packages on sale at the fest are domestic tours offered by local travel firm Saigontourist, which are being offered at discounts of up to 30 percent.

Aside from its domestic tours, Saigontourist is also offering international tours at steep discounts.

Other promotions at the festival include discounts on one-day city tours, double-decker bus tours, water puppet tour tickets, and trips to popular tourism destinations across the country.

Vietravel, another local tour operator, is using the festival to roll out a four-day promotional program featuring discounts of up VND12 million (US$514.1).

Nguyen Nguyet Van Khanh, marketing director of Vietravel, said that customers who buy tours and complete their payments within 24 hours will receive rebates of up to VND2 million ($85.8).

Vietravel also partnered with the Tourism Authority of Thailand on Saturday to market tours to Thailand during the upcoming Reunification Day (April 30) and International Labor Day (May 1) holidays.

Vietravel is also working with the Singapore Tourism Board to offer discounted ticket prices.

BenThanh Tourist is selling tours at the festival for up to 50 percent off. It will also host a lucky draw at its booth from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm each day of the festival.

Despite the discounts, the highlight of this year’s festival is sure to be the tourism career exchange on Friday which will help link travel firms with workers, students, and training centers in order to share information about training and recruitment.

Bui Thi Ngoc Hieu, deputy director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, shared that, as part of the festival, there are famtrips planned to introduce travel firms from outside Ho Chi Minh City to local tourist sites.
