Colors of Vietnam: Delicacies of cities, provinces on display

The unique cultural features of Vietnam’s regions will be showcased at the “Colors of Vietnam” program, held from April 14-16, at the walking-only space around Hoan Kiem Lake in Hanoi. This is an activity within the framework of the 12th Vietnam-France Decentralized Partnership Conference between April 13-15 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations and the 10th anniversary of strategic partnership relations between Vietnam and France. There are 60 booths in the exhibition area, showcasing typical handicrafts, products, and delicacies from many localities, along with images of cooperation achievements between Vietnam and France. The booths will be divided into thematic areas such as the potential of provinces and cities; craft village products; culinary culture, and Vietnam-France cooperation. Ho Chi Minh City hosts first golf festival

The event, which is set to wrap up on Friday, is jointly hosted by the Ho Chi Minh Department of Tourism and the Vietnam Golf Association. The festival features the Cup Ping Vietnam 2023 tournament, which attracts some 1,000 golfers. The participating golfers are entrepreneurs from localities across the southern region. The golf tournament is aimed at contributing to popularizing the city’s tourism products and services among local and international golf communities. According to the municipal Department of Tourism, Ho Chi Minh City made great strides in tourism post-COVID-19, fueling the city’s socio-economic recovery and growth. Youth Theater: 45 years bringing art to young audiences

Since its inception 45 years ago (1978-2023), the Hanoi-based Youth Theater has consistently ventured into new experiments, inviting domestic and foreign directors to collaborate in the creation of artistic works that are geared toward young people, taking advantage of its membership in the International Association of Theatre for Children and Young People (ASSITEJ). The milestone was celebrated at the Hanoi Opera House on April 10. Photographer rises to fame for scores of winning artworks globally

Between September 2021 and March 2023, Vu Hai has participated in 368 photo contests in more than 70 countries across the globe. Among 6,354 works selected for exhibition, he has won a total of 1,128 awards, including 290 gold medals, 90 silver medals, 150 bronze medals, and 598 other noble distinctions. Pictured is an artwork taken by Vu Hai who claimed two major international prizes in 2022. Vu Hai, 66, resides in Vinh Phuc province and is a member of the VAPA and the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP). With over 40 years in his career, he has traveled all over the country exploring the daily lives and traditional customs of the 54 ethnic groups residing in Vietnam. Stories behind female immigrant workers in Hanoi

Street vendor Le Thi Hoa stopped for a long time in front of her photo displayed at the exhibition  Where I Arrive.  She was overwhelmed with emotion when her story was told this way. The exhibition is held by the Vietnamese Women’s Museum with a group of female migrant workers in Hanoi. Stories to be heard For the exhibition, the museum staff met and interviewed 20 female migrant workers aged 16-34 from various occupations, including waitresses, hairdressers, salespersons, chefs, waste collectors, and street vendors in the capital city. They come from other provinces, including Son La, Cao Bang, Phu Tho, Hung Yen, Hai Phong, Nam Dinh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, and Ha Tinh, with hopes for a better future.   Le Thi Hoa and guests at the exhibition.
