Cuc Phuong National Park Grabs Honors at World Travel Award 2023

Cuc Phuong National Park will be recognized at the prestigious 30th World Travel Award (WTA) Asia & Oceania Gala Ceremony on September 6th in Ho Chi Minh City. This national park is not only Vietnam’s first but also one of its largest nature reserves, offering an enchanting blend of flora, fauna, and cultural heritage that appeals to tourists. With a sprawling area of 22,200 hectares nestled against Tam Diep mountain, Cuc Phuong National Park boasts an impressive array of over 2,000 plant species and 2,600 animal species, many of which are included in the Red Book of Vietnam and the world. Vietnamese boxer enters world championship final

Tam faced French opponent Lkhadiri Wassila, who has won the French championship seven times, as well as earned two bronze medals in Europe, in Thursday’s 50kg semifinal. Tam won the first round with a flurry of straight punches and hooks from both left and right. She lost the second round when Wassila adapted to her attacks. Tam kept her distance in the final round in order to avoid attacks from Wassila.  She effectively threw three punches and three hooks from the right arm at the end of the round, convincing four of the five coaches to name her the winner. The victory has made Tam the first-ever Vietnamese boxer to advance to a world final. The best achievement of Vietnamese boxing in the world arena was when female boxer Nguyen Thi Huong took home the bronze medal in the 81kg weight class at the 2019 Women’s World Boxing Championship. Professional photographer Le Vuong (1918-2021) is known for his wonderful Hanoi-themed photographs. Vuong’s collection of thousands of images about Hanoi is invaluable material and also a meaningful gift he has given to the homeland and future generations of Hanoians. In 2016, the professional photographer was honored to receive the Grand Award of the Bui Xuan Phai-For the Love of Hanoi. The late talented photographer was also recognized as the city’s 10 exemplary citizens in 2017.
