Vietnam joins World Heritage Committee for 2023-2027.

With 121 of the 171 valid votes, Vietnam secured its position as the second-ranked among the elected states from five regions, according to the Department of Cultural Heritage under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. The election took place during the 24th session of the General Assembly of States Parties to the Convention concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage (World Heritage Convention) in Paris. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ha Kim Ngoc, who also serves as the Chairman of the Vietnam National Commission for UNESCO, stated that this is Vietnam’s second time being elected to the most important executive body for culture at UNESCO. International photography festival opens in HCM City

The main aim of the six-day event is to introduce Vietnamese landscapes and people to international friends. It also offers an excellent opportunity for both local and international artists to meet and exchange their respective experiences on the art of photography. The highlight of the occasion will be a 500-outstanding-photo exhibition featuring beautiful landscapes and people’s cultural life from throughout the country. A number of activities will also be held during the course of the event, such as a seminar on contemporary photography, exchanges between local and foreign artists, as well as a photo marathon and photo tour contests.
