Deep love for ocean prompts youth to clean up trash on Vietnam’s Phu Quoc Island

On scheduled days, be it sunshine or rain, each member of the group is in charge of a specific task. Those who can swim are responsible for diving into the ocean to pick up trash, while others collect garbage on the shore. Apart from the beach cleanup, these volunteers also climb to the top of Tien Son Mountain, which is a popular destination for tourists to take photos on the pearl island, to keep it clean. Garbage lies scattered on a beach on Phu Quoc Island off Kien Giang Province in southern Vietnam. The beach and mountain cleanup drives are aimed at spreading the message of environmental protection to locals and visitors. 2023 Ho Chi Minh City TV cycling race will span 3,000km

This year’s edition, titled ‘Land, Rivers, and Mountains Create a Strip – Hope for Victory’ is one of Vietnam’s largest cycling tourneys. The race is set to bring together the country’s strongest teams, including Ho Chi Minh-Vinama, Loc Troi Group, Dong Thap Domesco Pharmaceuticals, Military Zone 7, Hanoi, Kenda Dong Nai, and Binh Minh Binh Duong Plastics. The race will start at Hoan Kiem Lake in Hanoi on April 2, stretch to the Mekong Delta province of An Giang, and finish in Ho Chi Minh City on April 30. Among these stages, the fourth is set to span 197.4 kilometers from Vinh City in the north-central province of Nghe An to Dong Hoi City in the north-central province of Quang Binh, making it the longest stage of the tourney. Local representative wins Miss Southeast Asia Businesswoman 2023

The conclusion of the event saw 35 contestants compete in the talent show, Ao Dai (Vietnamese traditional long dress), and evening gown competition. The top five featured contestants from Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam, with the chosen group entering the Q&A segment. The first and second runners-up spots went to Pham Thi Ngoc Thanh and Do Anh Sa of Vietnam. Other Southeast Asian contestants from Laos, the Philippines, and Myanmar won sub-titles, including Miss Media, Miss Fashion, and Miss Sports.
