Katrin Kandel mentioned that during November 16-30, Facing the World brought a team of craniofacial surgery experts from the UK to Vietnam. They will collaborate with Viet Duc Hospital, Hong Ngoc Hospital, and Central Military Hospital 108 to provide free surgeries for children and share their expertise with Vietnamese doctors. Additionally, FTW plans to discuss with partners about supporting cancer patients in Vietnam.

VUFO Vice President Nguyen Ngoc Hung acknowledged FTW’s contribution in supporting patients in Vietnam. VUFO agreed to continue cooperating with FTW in handling administrative procedures and implementing future activities.

Facing the World was established in the UK to assist children with facial deformities in developing countries. Since 2008, FTW has brought numerous groups of international doctors to Vietnam to collaborate with Vietnamese doctors in performing complex craniofacial surgeries for children.

To date, FTW has coordinated over 100 visits and exchanges of medical experts with Vietnam, established the Center for Craniofacial and Plastic Surgery at Hanoi Central Military Hospital 108, and contributed technology equipment worth £2 million to partner hospitals.
