Beyond their expectations, spectators gathering around the Han River on July 8 evening were treated to dazzling performances mixed with captivating music put in by two fireworks teams from France and Italy.The Italian team opened the final competition with a colourful fireworks display, lighting up the romantic Han River. Meanwhile, the French team gave an emotional fireworks display, fascinating hordes of spectators.Spectators could not take their eyes off the world-class fireworks displays put on by both teams on the background of French, US-UK and K-pop music.The much awaited moment was when both teams used Vietnamese songs for their performances.The French team chose pop star Thu Minh’s song Bay (Flying), bringing the audience a moment of pride and emotion.Meanwhile, the Italian team moved the audience, making them sing along with the song Vietnam In Me that has been well performed by singer Thuy Chi.“I am very lucky to be here tonight to see two performances by France and Italy… I feel very happy…. I think France will win the championship because their display expresses a lot of emotion from gentle melodies to the climax in the last minute”, said Nguyen Tat Tuan, a tourist from Hanoi.Winning first place, the fireworks team from France received the championship trophy and a prize of Ú$20,000. The Italian fireworks team won second place with a prize of US$10,000.
