2023 Milky Way Photographer of the Year Contest: Stunning Photos

The collection features 25 photos of the Milky Way taken from 16 countries around the world. The final selection was chosen from over 3,000 applicants. Many of the photos were taken in unique and remote locations where the Milky Way had not been photographed before. Examples include Socotra, a remote island in the Indian Ocean, and Madagascar, where the photographer had to photograph with armed guards. Other locations include a remote area in Spain called Serrania de Cuenca, as well as Namibia and New Zealand. The photos showcase stunning landscapes such as deserts, mountains, glaciers, and beaches, with the Milky Way shining in the sky. The photos capture the beauty and wonder of the night sky, offering viewers a glimpse into the breathtaking beauty of the Milky Way.
