Moreover, he also mentioned the remarkable achievements that the partnership between the two countries has had in the realms of politics, trade, security, defense, education, and cultural exchange, all of which have had an immensely positive impact on both countries.

“I am incredibly impressed by the significance of cuisine in Vietnamese culture and the way it can foster strong relationships,” Consul General Hooper declared at the event.

Vietnam’s exports to Australia reached VND169.2 trillion ($7.3 billion), a year-on-year increase of 37.5 per cent, while imports totalled VND193.3 trillion ($8.3 billion), up 23.6 per cent.

Australia was Vietnam’s seventh-largest trade partner in 2022, with a total trade turnover reaching an impressive VND362.5 trillion (US$15.6 billion). Vietnam’s exports to Australia rose to VND169.2 trillion ($7.3 billion), experiencing a year-on-year growth of 37.5%, while imports from Australia amounted to VND193.3 trillion ($8.3 billion), increasing by 23.6%.

Trade between Ho Chi Minh City and Australia totals an impressive VND27.8 trillion ($1.2 billion) annually, according to Hoan. This figure highlights the strong economic ties between the two countries and demonstrates the significant potential for further growth.
