Top legislators of Vietnam Visits The cradle of The Cuban Revolution

National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and President of the National Assembly of People’s Power, Esteban Lazo Hernández laid flowers at the tombs of Cuban national hero José Martí, leader Fidel Castro Ruz, Father of the Nation Carlos Manuel de Céspedes and “the mother of Cuba” Maria Grajales de Maceo at Santa Ifigennia Cemetery on April 22 (Cuba time), according to VNA.
Speaking at the cemetery, Chairman Hue stressed that the Party, State and people of Vietnam forever remember the great support that the Party, State and people of Cuba have provided for Vietnam during its struggle for national independence and reunification in the past and the cause of national construction and defence at present.

He expressed his firm belief that with the legacy and ideology of Fidel Castro, Raul Castro and the sound guidance of the new leadership, the fraternal Cuban people will overcome all challenges, stay firm with the path to socialism and build an increasingly strong and prosperous country.
He reiterated that the Party, State and people of Vietnam have been and will always stand shoulder to shoulder with the Cuban people and support each other to realise the revolutionary goal and ideal along the chosen path to socialism.

The same day, the top legislators of Vietnam and Cuba visited the 26 of July Historical Museum and the 26 of July school, which was formerly the Moncada Barracks.
Later, they arrived at the Cuba-Vietnam Friendship School in Santiago de Cuba, where they talked to and encouraged children with disabilities being taken care at the school, their teachers and nurses.
On the occasion, the Vietnamese NA leader presented the school with 10 computer sets, five tablets, a TV and toys made by Vietnamese children with disabilities.

The same day, NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and President Hernández attended a special music show in Santiago de Cuba City, which marked the 60th founding anniversary of the Cuban Committee for Solidarity with South Vietnam and the 50th anniversary of Fidel Castro Ruz’s visit to Vietnam and the newly liberated zone in Quang Tri province.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, President of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with Peoples (ICAP) Fernando Gonzalez Llort, who is also a member of the National Assembly of the People´s Power of Cuba, stressed that the establishment of the Cuban Committee for Solidarity with South Vietnam, now known as the Cuba-Vietnam Friendship Association (CVFA), was initiated by Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz.
He said the committee organized various activities to show solidarity with Vietnam, including launching a mass movement to spread solidarity with Vietnam throughout the country and around the world at international forums such as the United Nations, the Non-Aligned Movement and others.
Vietnamese NA Vice Chairman Tran Quang Phuong, for his part, affirmed that Cuba has always been a sincere and reliable friend and brother who wholeheartedly supports Vietnam, especially during the hardest time for the Vietnamese revolution.
Vietnam will do its best to preserve, protect, nurture and pass on the special, deep and loyal friendship between the two Parties, States and peoples to later generations, he said.
On the occasion, on behalf of Vietnamese Party and State leaders, Chairman Hue presented the Friendship Order of the Vietnamese State to the ICAP, the CVFA and ICAP President Llort. He also awarded the Friendship Medal to CVFA Vice Chairman Ruvislei González Saez.
The event was the last activity of the Cuba visit by NA Chairman Hue and his entourage before they depart for an official visit to Argentina.
