President of the Vietnam-Romania Friendship Association (under Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations) Ho Quang Loi on November 3 had a meeting with Ambassador of Romania in Vietnam Cristina Romila.

At the meeting, Ambassador Cristina Romila affirmed the good bilateral relations between Vietnam and Romania. In recent years, the relationship between the two countries has made many new and solid developments, bringing bilateral cooperation into depth. Economic-trade cooperation between the two countries has grown steadily, especially in the fields of seafood and pharmaceuticals. In the field of education, the delegation including representatives of 23 Romanian universities is negotiating cooperation opportunities with potential universities in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

Loi thanked Romania for its support to Vietnam in the past as well as the present. Romania and its people have always supported Vietnam since the 1950s, during the years of war and nation-building.

The President of the Vietnam-Romanian Friendship Association said that after the Covid-19 pandemic was brought under control, friendship and cooperation activities between Vietnam and Romania were resumed and achieved many positive results.

The Friendship Association has organized many rich, diverse, and practical activities such as celebrating major holidays of the two countries, organizing people-to-people exchange activities, especially in the economic, and cultural fields, contributing to consolidating and promoting the friendship between Vietnam – Romania to develop better and better.

Ho Quang Loi expressed his hope that the Romanian Embassy in Vietnam will continue to work closely with the Vietnam-Romanian Friendship Association to organize people-to-people diplomacy activities, and cultural exchanges, and promote cooperation opportunities between the two countries towards the 72nd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Romania (1950 – 2022) and the 104th Great Union Day of Romania (December 1, 1918 – December 1, 2022).

Last month, Chairman of the Romania-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Group visited Vietnam, met with National Assembly (NA) Vice Chairman Tran Thanh Man, held talks with the Vietnam – Romania Friendship Parliamentary Group, representatives from the Vietnamese NA’s Committees for Culture and Education and for Social Affairs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
