Nguyen Dynasty gold bowl fetches EUR680,000 at French auction

The bowl fetched 27 times higher compared to the value estimated by the French auction house of between EUR20,000 and EUR25,000.

According to details published on the auction house’ official website, the bowl features an image of a dragon and is seven cm tall and weighs 456.6g.

Million noted that the bowl possesses a crack and had been part of a collection of a doctor who worked in Hue during the 20th century.

Furthermore, a gold card from King Duy Tan, who reigned from 1907 to 1916, was also sold for EUR70,000 at the auction. The card, which is 8.6 cm tall and weigh 75.5 g, also fetched 8.7 times higher than Million’s initial price prediction.
